Our Story — 35 Years in the Making

Opening Paragraph

Columbia Knives was born in 1989 in Yangjiang, Guangdong — a city with over 1,400 years of blade-making history. Founded by Fu, the factory started with a single mission: to build outdoor knives that people could rely on, anywhere in the world. More than three decades later, that mission hasn’t changed.

The Handover

In 2016, Gary — Fu’s son — took over the factory. He brought with him a new generation of design thinking and a hunger to reach buyers directly around the world. Under Gary’s leadership, the company was renamed Yangjiang Jiatong Knife Technology Co., Ltd., and began investing in higher-end materials, more intricate handle craftsmanship, and international trade show presence including IWA OutdoorClassics in Germany and Cologne’s international hardware fair.

What We Make

Our range covers folding pocket knives, fixed-blade hunting knives, Damascus steel collector pieces, EDC knives, and survival camping tools. Every knife is designed with both function and aesthetics in mind — from the curve of the blade to the texture of the handle. We work with materials including Damascus steel, 7Cr13, 3Cr13 stainless steel, rose wood, olive wood, pakkawood, stabilized wood, fluorescent resin, G10, and titanium-coated blades.

Who We Work With

Our clients include outdoor brands, knife retailers, gift distributors, and private-label buyers across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. We support both large wholesale orders and small trial runs for new product launches.
